In a complex EM environment where coexist many antennas Radio, TV, and Mobile Telephone, operator may face rather a lot of problems for narrowband measurements:
- Many different radiating sources, in different frequency range,
- Environment affected by physical peculiarity of more transmitters (near field for someone, far field for others),
- Reflections due to urban ground and building configuration,
- Coupling between EM fields and measurement instruments,

- Different code signals (analogical and digital modulation),
- Antennas normally are placed on inaccessible spots,
- The wide frequency range of EM environment force the use of all several antennas with transport and assembly efforts.
AFJ NBMS is an optical compact system alternative to traditional passive antenna set that avoid non omni-directional antenna measurement errors.
Furthermore, it is small in size and easy to measurement errors due to RF cables and measured fields coupling are greatly reduced.
