EMC PARTNER offers generators for insulation and flammability tests on X and Y capacitors.
The insulation tests must be done with 1.2/50µs pulses. Minimum 3 pulses must withstand within 24 pulses.
A sample of the capacitor shall be exposed to a number of discharges at the flammability test.
The surge voltage is superimposed to the a.c. power supply.
The cheesecloth around the capacitor shall not burn with a flame.
