The METES family enables the automatic and manual testing and supervision of energy meter performance both in the field and in the laboratory.

Applications and features include:
  • The testing of single-phase, three-phase, three-wire and four-wire, electronic and electromechanical meters. The four voltage and three current source outputs can be set up via keyboard or mouse. The amplitude, frequency and phase of the output signals from each source can be adjusted and controlled independently, allowing any combination of three-phase, three-wire or four-wire circuits to be configured, including neutral voltages;
  • High-precision, wide-band, direct (real) measurement of network signals (without using the source), or combined injection and measurement (with the source), with both automatic and manual operation;
  • Portable reference standards have current clamp inputs included as a standard feature, making them ideal for on-site testing;
  • Direct online error curve plotting and percentage error results are a standard feature;
  • Testing of 16 2/3Hz meters;
  • Disturbance Fault Recorder option, ideal for capturing line and fault conditions, for intermittent fault reproduction and the testing of meters in both the field and the laboratory with dynamic extreme network conditions;
  • Measurement and generation of signal values from DC to 4kHz in both portable and METES TS variations. Optional TRANSIG (Transient Signal) software for the creation of special wave shapes is available;
  • Automatic meter calibration via software. For software calibrated meters it is possible to directly calibrate the meters with the METES 340 and the METES Test Stations via an optional IEC 1107 optical port;
  • All hardware functions are controlled from the Windows-based software platform and the application programme is extremely easy to learn and operate.
In addition, the METES family enables the optional testing and calibration of harmonics, THD, power, voltage, current and frequency devices.
